Thank you for your understanding that Darby Acres Farm is a small family with huge hearts for animals and animal education. Your scheduled tour helps our mission, and we are so very grateful for your support. If we are unable to answer your call, it is because we are on the other line assisting with another call, out in the field with the animals, or are working with an already scheduled tour.

We utilize low-cost or no cost scheduling software so that the most can go to the animals and not administrative fees.  For this reason, we kindly request that you visit all information on our website prior to calling, to assist us in lowering our administrative fees!  If you are unable to find the answer to your questions, please call or text or complete the inquiry form below.  If we are unable to answer your telephone call, please leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible!

1.) Cancellations

*Cancellation / Rain Policy*

Should rain/inclement weather or any unforeseen circumstance arise, that would make for an unsafe environment, scheduled tours for the day will be canceled and you will be contacted by our scheduling department to reschedule a tour for another available date within the next 12 months. If the tour has begun and rain has started…The tour will continue. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Absolutely NO CASH REFUNDS/REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES. The management of Darby Acres Farm & Darby Safari reserves the right to cancel a scheduled tour at any time. The cancellation policy may be varied at management’s discretion under special circumstances.

2.) Your tour guide will open the gate 5 minutes prior to scheduled tour times. Text ONLY if it is less than 5 minutes prior to your tour time and your tour guide is not present at the gate.

3.) Request for additional tickets. (3 Hour Notification Required) * To allow tour guides to stay on schedule, we kindly request that you do not arrive with additional guests that are not a part of your prepaid reservation. If you would like to add additional guests, please text 704-738-4444, a minimum of 3 hours prior to your scheduled tour time to ask for your credit card on file to be charged for any additional people. (Please be sure to be ready to confirm the last 4 digits of your credit card.) Because we have a limit on tour group sizes, and have a schedule we must keep with, we may not be able to approve additional guests as it may over-lap into our next tour time.

* PRIOR TO CALLING OR SENDING INQUIRY - PLEASE NOTE: 

1) Birthday Parties and Facility Rentals are only offered to current guests of Darby Acres Farm & Darby Safari. 

Please schedule a Safari tour or farm tour, depending on the location you would like to reserve, prior to inquiring for availability.

2.) At this time, we are not traveling with the animals to birthday parties or small events. 

3.) At this time, we are not offering Pony Rides.

4.) We do not offer horseback riding or trail rides.

5.) Surrender & Re-Homing requests must be made online HERE. 

6.) We are unable to take in Dogs, Cats or Wildlife Animals.

8.) Tour dates are added two weeks in advance.  (Monday evening / Tuesday morning)  If we are able to, we will add tour dates as far out as we possibly can; all tour dates are dependent on staff availability.

9.) Animal encounters can only be added to the "Safari Friends Walking Tour". Each animal encounter price is per person and is added on to the $25 General Admission price.  You can only purchase an animal encounter with the purchase of a "Safari Friends Walking Tour" general admission ticket.  We do not offer tickets for solely an animal encounter.

10.) We are located in Charlotte, NC 28216 near I-485 at HWY 16.  Our location is private, and you will receive the exact location address after scheduling your tour.
